Thirumala Vidya Nikethan is a Bengaluru based school promoted by Telugu Vignana Samithi Educational Trust.. The school is affiliated to Karnataka State Education Secondary Board. The School is situated in Vyalikaval, one of Bengaluru City’s fastest growing area. The school offers quality education to students to achieve their goals of becoming much sought after professionals.
The genesis of Telugu Vignana Samithi Educational Trust is interesting. It initially had its birth in the year 1952 as the Telugu Vignana samithi formed by dedicated eminent personalities like Sri.Thenneti Viswanatham, Sri.P.Sambhashivaiah and Sri.C. Anna Rao to cater to the cultural needs of the telugu speaking population in Bangalore. The other objective of this Samithi was to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the Telugu speaking people.
Over the course of time a need was felt to branch out and start a school that would address the needs of the local people by providing access to children from all walks of life, especially, the middle class and the downtrodden sections of the society. Incidentally it was also conceptualized to offer Telugu as one of the languages for the Telugu speaking children of this community residing at Bangalore to foster the love of their mother tongue.
This school of thought led to the formation of the Telugu Vignana Samithi Educational Trust, in the year 1976 with Shri.C.Anna Rao as the pioneer president of the trust, Shri.E. Surendranath Banerjee as Secretary and Shri.J.A.K.Murthy as treasurer. Eminent people of the samithi in the initial stages along with the above mentioned team effectively worked towards the allotment of the land from the BDA to establish a school, and an auditorium for conducting cultural activities in the year 1967.
The Thirumala Vidya Nikethan School was established in the year 1984 after completing necessary formalities to offer a state board syllabus. At the time of establishment the school has student strength of 25 students only, who were housed in a small shed which served as classroom. Over a period of time the school has grown in leaps and bounds with parallel growth in terms of infrastructure, faculty and students.
Today Thirumala Vidya Nikethan is a well established school in terms of infrastructure, faculty strength and student strength who hail from all strata of the society. Thirumala Vidya Nikethan School has not only grown in size and structure but has also carved a niche for itself in terms of academics. The first batch of students from class X passed out in the academic year 1995 -96 with Cent percent results and a State rank in the SSLC Board Examination that year. From then the school has maintained a very active tempo in terms of disseminating education to the children and this has reflected in our results at the board exams. The School has even received a letter of appreciation from the Government of Karnataka. Today Thirumala Vidya Nikethan School figures in the top ten schools in the North Zone for Education in Bangalore city.
